The FCDC was honored to host 40 local artists in our 2022 Art Exhibition: In Our Own Backyard. Over the course of two days, we welcomed over 135 attendees to view nearly 90 pieces of artwork at the Veteran's Memorial Hall.
Community members were also invited to participate in a silent auction on Friday night, with items donated from 20 local businesses in Auburn and Foresthill. A few of these items included hand-made jewelry, a hand-carved wooden sculpture, hand-blown glass, and a 5-week pottery throwing class from the Auburn Clay Arts Studio. There was live music from a local family of musicians at this event, and an interactive art piece that engaged artists and non-artists alike in a hands-on yarn weaving activity.
Through the silent auctions and by accepting donations at the door, we were able to raise a significant sum for future FCDC art events in Foresthill. The FCDC would like to thank all of the artists who participated in the show, as well as all those who were involved behind the scenes.
Sebastian would like to partner with Foresthill Community Development Council to promote community awareness of the FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The ACP provides up to a $30 monthly discount on internet service to qualifying low-income households. Sebastian can provide this service to Foresthill residents.
The FCC website, www.affordableconnectivity.gov provides the details on qualifying and applying for the discount. This website has easy to follow instructions for consumers to apply for the program.
If you have questions about the program, please contact Lorrie Clark, 559 846-4969. If one of your clients has questions, they can contact Sebastian's Customer Service at 530 367-2222.
